Some of my favourite times are outdoors with my sketchbook, pencils and watercolours in hand. Here I can become absorbed into my surroundings and my art, engaging directly with what’s all around me. I love to capture the changing moods, light and shadows, and the interplay of shapes and forms. Sometimes I add notes on the weather, smells, sights and sounds which evoke memories of the place and time of year and provide further inspiration for when I work up my final pieces in the studio.
